The Team Behind GuitarFella

Guitar Fella is no one-man job – it takes a lot of effort to keep up with the constant movement of the guitar and gear world.
Below, we feature our current team, who research the gear, write reviews and blog posts, create video content, and generally keep the site growing.

I first picked up the guitar way…WAY back when I was 11 years old, simply because I wanted to be Ace Frehley from KISS…(hey – didn’t everybody??)
I’ve been fortunate to have played in a lot of different situations and environments over the years, but I’ve found that one thing always remains the same – my passion for playing the guitar! I’m more of a classic rock kind of guy but sometimes there’s nothing better than a beautifully fingerpicked acoustic passage…
My current gear may be a bit old-school, but I subscribe to the ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ way of thinking. Electrics are a Peavey USA Wolfgang Special and a PRS SE Custom 22, my main acoustic is a Taylor 210-E, and amps/effects are a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III with a Line 6 M13.
Having the opportunity to write about guitar-related ‘stuff’ has certainly allowed me to share my experience and passion with others, and I’m incredibly excited (and proud) to be part of the GuitarFella team!

While drums were my first instrument, I fell in love with guitar after first picking up the instrument nearly five years ago.
My musical taste ranges from British Invasion to new wave, indie, jazz, and modern rock — artists like the Beatles, the Smiths, Grant Green, Radiohead, Tame Impala, and the Kinks are some of my favorites.
My gear obsession means my rig is often changing; currently I’m playing a Fender Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar through a Blues Deluxe.
I’ve also got a Washburn HD325CE for the times I want a classic acoustic tone.
I especially love playing Fenders, Rickenbackers, Voxes, and Gibsons, to name just a few. I’m excited and proud to help other guitar heads find their perfect gear!

After studying composition as a pianist in my teenage years, I went on to work in various areas within the music industry. Beginning as a performer/composer, I quickly transitioned to producer and more recently, writer.
Although the guitar was not my first instrument, I became fascinated by players like Django Reinhardt and Wes Montgomery early on. Later down the line, I picked up the guitar myself, which is currently a Fender Aerodyne Strat.
My passion for music came from Jazz, particularly the bebop era but I have a very broad taste in music. My interests range from jazz to funk to hip hop and a lot in between. I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to music tech, I love checking out new synths, VST's, effects, modular gear, and production/recording tools. Basically, if you can make sound with it then it has my interest and I'm lucky I get to share some of my opinions through GuitarFella.
