Gibson Flying V 120 Classic – The Original Flying V

4.9 out of 5 stars

Gibson’s Flying V debuted on the market in 1958, however it did not lead to any significant success in sales, despite its distinctively attractive design, or maybe because of it. Gibson have remade this wonder which fits much better on the modern market. The Flying V marks their 120th anniversary, a slender package featuring proven quality, attention to detail and uncontested versatility.

    HI there, Fella

I have a brand new V120 in heritage cherry. It is my 2nd Flying V. My first has ceramic pickups and this is something I will change – they are too dark and it is sad that Gibson narrowed it’s appeal this way ! The V120, however, is exactly as you say. Versatile with the alnico 5 Burstbucker Pro and smooth feel of the Grover Rotomatics. This is
the Flying V as it always should be. The lure of a V is legendary and
my V120 has cast a real spell over me, that’s for sure. I feel no urge to re-voice it, or, chage anything for matter.
